About Our Church

We are a nondenominational body of New Testament believers, attributing our existence to the revelation of God, in Christ Jesus. Christ Himself is the foundation on which we, the temple of God, are built and joined together.

We believe, as the apostle Paul describes it, what is of first importance:

  • That Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures
  • That He was buried
  • That He was raised on the third day according to the scriptures

1 Corinthians 15:3-4

We teach and preach from the word of God in the Bible. Christ is our only creed and the Bible is our only book of faith.

Church does not have to be a complicated construct of systems and time-consuming programs. Church is literally a body of believers manifesting the life of the risen Christ while living and striving together to serve God’s redemptive purpose for the world and to further build up the body of believers.

We minister in two primary ways:

1. A RECONCILIATION ministry

The ministry of “reconciliation” is a primary ministry of First Christian Church.

All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. So we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We beseech you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
2 Corinthians 5:18-20

We participate in a local ministry of reconciliation as salt and light and globally by our support of missionaries with both our prayers and our resources.

2. A ONE ANOTHER ministry

The New Testament uses the phrase “one another” 100 times. As believers we are described as “members one of another” in Christ:

For as in one body we have many members, and all the members do not have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.
Romans 12:4-5

As such we have both the privilege and an obligation to minister to one another in a number of ways.

  • Love one another
  • Serve one another
  • Pray for one another
  • Care for one another
  • Encourage one another
  • Comfort one another
  • Build one another up
  • Teach one another

These are just a few of the ways in which our one another ministry is expressed. If you and your family would like to be a part of a one another ministry, to be served and to serve…join us.
